Who is Alex? Alex Khalil is a Mom, an advocate, organizer, an unpaid public servant, a former small business owner and educator who believes Pennsylvania’s elected officials must focus on and work for the well-being and best interests of all Pennsylvanians. Alex believes the economic power of small business. Alex believes that the Federal government needs to use all tools available to end the needless suffering and hardships currently facing fellow Pennsylvanians and Americans.
Family
Alex (Alexandria Khalil) was born in Hackensack New Jersey and raised in Queens, NY and Glassboro, NJ.. She is the granddaughter of Mahmoud Yennes and the daughter of Feisal and Hind Khalil - Palestinian-Muslim immigrants from the West Bank village of Al Mazra’a Ash Sharqiya (Eastern Farm) and Wad-al-Joz – East Jerusalem (the Valley of the Walnuts). Al Mazra’a Ash Sharqiya is also known as the Ancestral home of DJ Khalid. Grandpa (Seedee) Mahmoud served in the US Army during World War I. Alex's uncle, Muhammad Akram Yennes served in the US Army during the Vietnam War. Alex's first cousin, Amad Ali, served in the Marine Corps and fought during Operation Iraqi Freedom and her nephew, Zak Khalil, is currently in the US Navy Reserves.
Community Organizer
She is a Councilor on Jenkintown Borough Council, 2nd Vice President of Montgomery County Borough’s Association, a member of the Jenkintown Education Foundation and Jenkintown Advisory Committee. She is a member of the PA DOH Health Equity and nCOVID19: Rural Healthcare Task Force.
During the fight for ACA, Alex and her friends Terry Hoffman and Michael Barrett created a community outreach initiative to educate the community on ACA.

She traveled throughout the state and country in support of Pres. Obama and Bernie Sanders and Democratic candidates throughout Pennsylvania.
Alex holds Invite a Neighbor to Dinner events where neighbors cook extra meals and donates them to Caring for Friends Food Bank, Alex volunteers at the Jenkintown Food Bank and Jenkintown Community Garden.
Small Business Owner
Small business is in Alex’s DNA and understands the struggles of small business owners during the pandemic. Her parents were small business owners as are her aunts and uncles. She is an IT Specialist and former small business owner (7-11 on Stenton and Ogontz). She still has a solo practice in New Jersey specializing in small businesses and has provided pro bono advocacy for special education and guardianships for the parents of children with disabilities. Alex is a former adjunct at Gwynedd Mercy College where she taught Business courses and focused on teaching students about entrepreneurship and starting a businesses.
Hobbies
Alex loves to garden, embroider and TRYS very hard to complete her knitting and crocheting projects. She spends her weekends exploring yarn shops, alpaca and sheep farms, and garden nurseries.
Due to COVID and any reason she can find - she has not been able to complete her radiator cover from her woodshop class. Alex loves to read poetry and science fiction.
